Annual Meeting March 18, 2022

The Bibliographical Society of the University of Virginia held its Annual Meeting on Friday, March 18, 2022, in the Harrison/Small auditorium of the UVa Special Collections Library at 4:00 p.m. In addition to the usual business, and announcement of the winners of Battestin Fellowships and the Book Collecting Contest, the meeting featured speeches by three UVa graduate students:

Louis Mainwaring Foster, “Thucydides and the Establishment of Greek Identity”

John Shimazaki, “The Absence of Phillis Wheatley’s Portrait from American Editions of Poems on Various Subjects

Samantha Stephens, “The Digital Typography of Kamau Brathwaite”

John Casteen III, President of the Bibliographical Society, with student speakers Louis Mainwaring Foster, Samantha Stephens, and John Shimazaki.
