Bibliographical Society

Since 1947, the Bibliographical Society of the University of Virginia has promoted interest in books and manuscripts, maps, printing, the graphic arts, and bibliography and textual criticism.

In its seventy-five years the Bibliographical Society has produced over 178 separate publications—in addition to 54 issues of its Secretary’s News Sheet and 60 volumes of its journal Studies in Bibliography.

Founded in 1948, Studies in Bibliography is the pre-eminent journal of analytical bibliography, textual criticism, manuscript study, and the history of printing and publishing.
